We name them every day, we know them perfectly, even some are so famous that we use them to refer to an object. Sports clothing brands are already part of our daily life, but do you know where they got their characteristic names? Behind each one is a more or less curious story, and today we go over the best known ones.
One of a variety of names
Many have been the founders of sports brands who wanted to leave their name for posterity. Among them we find Umbro (created by the brothers Humphrey Brothers-Um-Bro-), Joma (first letters by José Manuel, name of the son of the founder of the Spanish company), Lacoste (founded by tennis player Jean René Lacoste) or Argentinean Topper (it is the name of the dog of one of the founders).
